Macbeth is worried about the two princes, Malcolm and Donalbain, are after his downfall. Once Macbeth is left alone he recollects about how Banquo, his "friend", is the only man in Scotland that he fears.
A servant returns with Macbeth's guest, who happen to be two murders that he has hired. He speaks of a conversation they had the day before, reminding them of the wrongs Banquo has done to them in the past and they agree to take revenge on Banquo by killing Fleance and his father.
